Day 1: ARRIVAL PARO / THIMPHU (Flight // 65 KM / 2H30)

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Paro. Assistance on arrival and transfer by road to Thimphu. Arriving in Thimphu, check in at the hotel. You can choose to rest for a while.

Day 2 : THIMPHU
Breakfast
After breakfast you visit Kuensel Phodrang, the gigantic Buddha Dordenma Statue located on top of a hill in Kuensel Phodrang Nature Park. National Memorial Chhorten, a Stupa built in 1974 to honor the third Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Zorig Chusum, First institute of traditional arts and crafts in Thimphu established with an objective of preservation "thirteen arts and crafts of Bhutan". Folk Heritage, traditional house giving insight into Bhutanese life, and rural household artefacts.
Afterwards, you will be taken to a local restaurant for lunch.
In the afternoon you would be taken to Sangaygang View Point, also known as the BBS Tower offering a panoramic view of Thimphu city located at an altitude of 2685m. Changangkha Monastery, popular fortress like temple perched on a ridge above central Thimphu built in the 15th century by Lama Phajo Drugom Zhipo. Takin Preserves Center, see Takin (national animal of Bhutan) It is a unique combination of goat and antelope Tashichhodzong, or 'the fortress of glorious religion'. Originally built in 1641 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, it was rebuilt in the 1960s during the reign of Bhutan's third king in the traditional style, without blueprints or nails. It houses some ministries, Her Majesty's Secretariat, and the Central Monk's Body and opens after 5 p.m. Return to your hotel. After relaxing for a while, you will be served with dinner.

Day 3 : THIMPHU / PUNAKHA (90 KM / 3H)

After breakfast depart for Punakha for your second leg of the tour. On the way, stop at Dochula Pass, sits at an altitude of 3150m and is an excellent place to view the upper Himalayas. Landmarks around the pass include 108 Druk Wangyal stupas built under the patronage of Queen Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk.
Arrival in Punakha, check-in at the hotel.
After lunch, you visit Chhimi Lhakhang, a famous temple, which is also known as " The Temple of Fertility " built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley. Rest of the day free for personal activities.

Day 4 : PUNAKHA

After breakfast, visit KHAMSUM YUELLY NAMGYEL CHORTEN, newly built stupa, then drive to local wangduephodrang market, wangduephodrang os district also famous for bamboo products, slate and stone cravings.
After lunch, visit of the Punakha Dzong, the oldest dzong in the country after that of Simthoka. Its nickname is Pungthang Dechen Phodrang (“Palace of Great Bliss”). It was built in 1636-1637 by the great lama Ngawang Namgyal, at the confluence of the Pho ("male") and Mo ("female") rivers. The latter took up his winter quarters there in the central tower which dominates the fortress with its 7 floors. 180 meters long and 72 m wide, the dzong housed up to 600 monks. Among its defenses, it has a huge wooden door, closed and barred every night, access being by very steep steps that can be removed.

Day 5 : PUNAKHA / PARO (125 KM / 4H)

After breakfast you leave the hotel to proceed to Paro for the last leg of the tour. On the way, stop at Royal Botanical Park, Lamperi, also known as the Rhododendron Garden. It is Bhutan's first botanical garden. It is famous for 46 species of rhododendrons.
After arrival in Paro, you will be transferred to your Hotel. After lunch, you will be taken around to visit Paro Rimpung Dzong, also known as the Jewel Heap Fortress, built during the time of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646 Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower overlooking Rimpung Dzong built in 1951 today transformed into a national museum.
Return to the hotel. The evening is free

Day 6 : PARO
Breakfast
After breakfast, start your day with a hike Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest), the abode of gods and monks located at an altitude of 3100m on the Upper Paro Valley, Bhutan. According to legend, Guru Padmasambhana (Guru Rinpoche), the angry mystic who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan, came in the form of Dorje Droloe riding a flying tigress to subdue the demon that was obstructing the spread of Buddhism in the Himalayas.
After the completion of the trek, you will be served picnic lunch in the woods. Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan built in the 7th century by Tibetan Emperor Songtsen Gampo later in the day, then you will have to drive to the village house to witness traditional rural life in a Bhutanese village.
You also have an option to experience a traditional stone hot bath in the village house. You can also choose to have your dinner in the house with the family or to spend your night in the village house (necessary to be confirmed at the time of the confirmation of the Trips) or to be driven to your hotel.
